Benice Horowitz

b. 1940

Abstract expressionist, Benice Horowitz, depicts expressive landscapes through gestural brushstrokes and vivid color. Working largely in acrylic on either paper or canvas, Horowitz uses color and mark making to convey a range of strong emotions from exuberance to grief. Drawing inspiration and subject matter from both nature and the human figure, Horowitz is driven by emotional expression and consciously employs color and line to convey her emotional experience to the landscape she portrays.
