Governors Residence, Hartford, CT

urator Joan Hurwit has chosen Sail 2, 3, 4 for the Sculpture Garden at the Governor's Residence in Hartford, along with the works of fifteen other living sculptors from Connecticut. Sail 2, 3, 4, which is based on the Sail series, consists of three stainless steel forms with mirrored outer finishes, that have been hand-worked on bending-rolling machines to achieve a unique form, reminiscent of great billowing sails. Each form is mounted on a bronze plate, and displayed amidst the natural landscape of the garden. The Sculpture Garden is open to the public by prearranged tours, and all sculptures are for sale.
