Vittorio Masoni

b. 1929 , Florence, Italy

I started painting many years ago in Florence, Italy. First I painted landscape, still life and figure in traditional style. Gradually, I evolved into a non-descriptive mode. The stunning encounter with Kandinsky’ Spirituel dans l’art and Mondrian’s uncompromising purity where major turning points. My compositions now are abstract landscapes, groups and “monuments”, follow classical laws of proportions and tonal color harmony. A long journey has brought me to a nature-inspired abstract expressionism, where my art stands today.
