Michael Brown

b. 1970 , London , England

Inspired by Abstract Expressionists of the 1940’s and 50’s, such as Robert Motherwell and Hans Hoffman, painter Michael Brown approaches each composition with utter confidence and spontaneity. Brown begins each piece without any predetermined concept of the finished product, but rather is guided by instinct to produce each work through mark making and gesture. Consequently, Brown’s body of work is equally imbued with a sense of immediacy, movement, and expression, thus fulfilling his self-proclaimed duty as an artist to, ‘clearly express the inner experience outwardly.’
