"You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." The Matrix. Alice stands before a mirror. She is looking at her hands, which contain two pills: a blue pill and a red pill. Either way she must choose. The popular culture symbols represent the choice between embracing the painful truth of reality (the red pill) and the blissful ignorance of illusion (the blue pill). The piece calls each of us to consider the deeper implications of individual choice. Am I okay living an ignorant life as long as I am happy? Will I search and find the Truth even if it will be difficult to embrace? The background of this piece is influenced by a classic Christian La Croix wallpaper. His collections are based on historical costumes, old culture and folklore, as well as fables and the past.
